Talking about the formation of lubricant oils, they contain 90% base oil that are petroleum fractions, also known as mineral oils, and less than or equal to 10% additives. These base oils might include Vegetable oils or synthetic liquids such as hydrogenated polyolefin, esters, silicones, fluorocarbon, etc. The additives are added to deliver less friction and guarantee less wear, increase the viscosity of the oil and improve viscosity index in return, resist well to corrosion and oxidation while running of the engine, and provide less aftermath of aging or contamination, etc.
